With the 2023 88th Texas Legislature underway, Texans For Texas Hold’em is proud to announce its first bill. H.B. 2345 by Rep. Guillen is a proactive social poker bill that looks to amend the Texas penal code gambling definitions section by adding a favorable definition to the term economic benefit and editing the current definition of private place.

On the morning of April 12th, 2023, H.B.2345 was successfully voted out of the House Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee with a vote of 8 yes and 2 no. Now, we wait in the House Calendars Committee for the bill to get set to be discussed on the House Floor.
Senate Companion Bill S.B.1681
Our Senate Bill (S.B.1681) was filed by Senator Menendez the week of March 6th.
That bill has officially been referred to the Senate State Affairs Committee.
We are still awaiting a hearing date for our companion bill in the Senate State Affairs Committee.
